Top 10 Most Powerful Pokémon That Ash Has Ever Owned

Number 10

Krookodile

Krookodile doesn't only look cool, but he fights against other Pokémon with styleーhe did used to be called the Sunglassess Sandile and Sunglasses Krokorok. Luckily, Krookodile had a good trainer/Pokémon relationship with Ash, and fought in various battles with him.

When Ash fought against Stephan during the Vertress Conference, he used Krookodile as his first Pokémon and eliminated him from the tournament after he used Aerial Ace, a new move he recently learned.

Number 9

Genger

Gengar was once loyal to its previous Trainer, obeying his instructions to remain at the future site of the Cerise Laboratory. Over time, however, Gengar became resentful of its old Trainer, even to the point of attacking him upon seeing him again and only calming down once he ran away. It grew bitter and developed a hostile nature against all humans, repeatedly attacking them with its powers. After it bonded with Ash and was caught, it became friendlier, though it still seems to have a mischievous streak, such as when it showed its concern for Ash by dumping a pile of apples on top of him, and when it scared Ren and Chloe in Memories of a Warming Kindness! by phasing through a wall. In Errand Endurance!, Gengar kept scaring Eevee, Grookey, and a Geodude by repeatedly phasing through walls while moving objects with Psychic.

Number 8

Incineroar

Incineroar debuted as Litten in Alola to New Adventure!, relaxing on the beaches of Melemele Island before it was accidentally stepped on by Ash when he was racing with Pikachu. Litten, in anger, attacked Ash with Ember and walked off.

In Loading the Dex!, Litten approached the Pokémon School and watched Samson Oak's Komala. In First Catch in Alola, Ketchum-Style!, Litten was seen being fed by Anela in a marketplace on the beach. At that moment, it saw a wild Rowlet carrying off a wind chime.

Number 7

Dragonite

As a Dragonair, Dragonite is a very courageous and determined Pokémon as this was displayed when it saves Ash from falling and it is similar to Clair's Dragonair but its slippery skin is much like Ash's Goodra while it was both a Goomy and a Sliggoo before. It is also caring for its kind including the head Dragonite at Dragonite Island.

Number 6 Infernape

Ash caught Chimchar in the Sinnoh region after offering it a new home, but it was owned by another trainer named Paul before being released.

With Blaze achieved once evolving into Infernape, it was able to defeat many enemies with its various moves, such as Mach Punch and Dig. Although Infernape didn't win nearly as many battles as Ash's other Pokémon, it was by no means weak

Number 5 Sceptile

Treeko was the second Pokémon Ash managed to catch in the Hoenn region after battling with his Pikachu and losing. Not only was it showing determination once it went off to train and create a new version of the attack Pound, but it was also a force to be reckoned with in battles.

As Grovylve, it earned Ash a Balance Badge. as Sceptile, it performed in the Ever Grande Conference multiple times, showing its strengthsーas well as its talent for battles.

Number 4 Charizard

Ash and Charmander had a rough start. Charmander had an attitude problem, and Ash didn't wish to deal with itーalthough as his trainer, he did his best to compromise with it. After evolving into a Charizard by protecting him from Aerodactly, he still disobeyed him but would become one of his strongest teammates in battles.

From his battle against Blaine's Magmar and Noland's Articuno, Charizard showed how powerful a monster it was and remains one of his strongest Pokémon.

Number 3

Iucario

Lucario's Egg was originally found in the Sinnoh region. Despite being passed from one Day Care worker to another for a long time, it seemed unwilling to hatch. Eventually, the Egg made its way to the Kanto region, coming under the care of the Nurse Joy working in Vermilion City.

While Ash battled Hayden in Caring for a Mystery!, the Egg sensed the strong Aura being emitted by the former and reacted to it. Ash also felt the Egg calling for him. While Pikachu was being treated at the Pokémon Center, Ash followed the call to the room where the Egg was being kept. When the Egg reacted to Ash's presence by rolling towards him, Nurse Joy decided to entrust its care to him.

Number 2 Greninja

Ash's Greninja made waves when he first caught him a Froakie in the Kalos region, but even more when he evolved and showed how powerful it could become. Not only does Greninja's design make him appear awesome enough already, but its performance at the Lumiose Conference showed how strong a Pokémon he truly was in the end.

Because of Greninja, Ash won the Iceberg Badge as well as defeated Altaria with a single Water Shuriken. Out of all of Ash's Pokémon, he usually used Greninja last to finish off his opponents with either Water Shuriken or Blast Burn. Ash would have lost many of his battles if it wasn't for Greninja.

Number 1 Pikachu

Pikachu was Ash's starter Pokémon since Kanto. Despite him being unevolved, the fact that Pikachu can last so long in battles against other evolved monsters shows how powerful this Pokémon is when faced with tough battles.

He's almost always the trump card when it comes to gym battles with Ash, as he has trained him for years. Pikachu has battled various Gym Leaders, different versions of the Elite Four, and legendary Pokémon without immediately fainting.
